Eighth Proposal - Varsity Soccer Boys

For the past 4 years, I have dedicated to a soccer team in my school. I have been able to learn valuable life lessons being a Soccer varsity team. When I started, I have been the youngest player of the team. I had to work hard to fit in the team and I took leadership positions for the team. This year, I am the oldest player, and it will be my last year for the school's Soccer Varsity team.

It is often discouraging for students to write a proposal about an activity that I has been done regularly. However, I believe that being part of a sports team itself requires a high level of challenge and dedication. Personally, I do not possess a great physique that requires to be a great athlete. Every year, many athletes become better than I am. I usually understand that my teammates do not fully trust my ability as a soccer player. Also I did not get involved in any type of sports for the past few months. Therefore, it will be a challenge for myself to put myself back to the way I had been before.

This year, regardless of the position I might take, I will have to take a leadership position in the team. In the sports teams, age usually takes a big role, and many players pay a great respect to players who are more experiences. Consequently, I have to be a model for the younger players who are especially new to the soccer varsity team. Also the seniors of the team will have to motivate the younger players to be more motivated to work harder to achieve a common goal of the team. Our team will be ultimately aiming to win the ISAC tournament, which will be held in British School Manila. Also I believe my job is to teach different athletes in our school to be more competent in playing soccer. This is mostly because the grade 12s take most of the spots on the soccer team. Therefore, if the seniors leave, there might be a difficulty in bringing the team’s standard as high as it is right now.

In my CAS portfolio, this activity will take the active part of my CAS. Throughout this activity, I will be motivating the other athletes and myself to work harder to be able to become a better team. Also, I will get involved in personal trainings to become a faster runner, and physically more challenging. I will also communicate with the coaches to communicate about the important tactical decisions of the team, and to express the opinions of the whole team.

Through this activity, Mr. Mike MacLean will going to supervise the activity, as he is our head coach of the team, and I will going to devote mostly 6~8 hours every week to train and extra hours to train by myself.
